Tom'mya Lyons Future Builders

Tom'mya Lyons encircled by angel wings

Tom’mya Lyons was a quiet, observant, and deeply intentional young woman whose presence made a lasting impact. She became part of the Flossmoor community in sixth grade at Parker Junior High School and continued her academic journey through Homewood-Flossmoor High School, where she grew into a focused and disciplined student. Tom’mya was a proud and dedicated member of the HF Step Team. Step required endurance, precision, teamwork, and commitment qualities she embodied fully. Though reserved in nature, she demonstrated quiet confidence, a strong work ethic, and unwavering dedication to her team.

Born on February 5, 2007, Tom’mya had a special connection to the number 5—she proudly wore Team Number 5, a symbol that continues to represent her strength and identity. She also loved the colors blue, black, and purple—tones that reflected her calm presence, resilience, and depth. Academically driven and purposeful about her future, Tom'mya valued discipline, loyalty, and excellence. She understood the importance of preparation and perseverance, and she approached her goals with intention. The Tom'mya Lyons Future Builders Scholarship Fund was established to honor her legacy by supporting Homewood-Flossmoor students who demonstrate resilience, leadership, discipline, and a commitment to building a meaningful future. Through this scholarship, her legacy continues to inspire and invest in the next generation of Future Builders.
