Brian P. Miller Memorial

The Brian P. Miller Memorial Scholarship was established in 2011 at Homewood-Flossmoor High School to support a graduating senior planning to pursue further education in a mechanical or technical field.

Brian was a 1990 graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School. During his time at HF, he was named Industrial Ed Student of the Year and competed in both regional and state VICA competitions. After high school, he attended Triton College, earning his degree through the Ford ASSET program, and went on to become an ASE Master Certified Technician.

Brian spent his life doing what he loved and was always ready to help others. Whether teaching someone a new skill, lending a hand to a friend, or quietly playing Santa for a single mother who couldn’t afford gifts for her children, Brian believed in giving without expecting anything in return.

Tragically, Brian lost his life in a preventable work accident in 2009.

Through this scholarship, his family honors Brian’s life and legacy by supporting students who share his passion for skilled trades, hard work, and helping others.
